The Design Engineer serves a pivotal role between design and production. Drawing construction and setup prints that are accurate, informative, and easy to read ensure the success of an efficient project. Success for a Design Engineer often revolves around good communication and being able to negotiate the needs of the adjacent departments.
Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):
• Execute the drawing of construction and setup prints
• Review and interpret project contracts and renderings
• Develop innovative ways to find solutions to problems
• Manage multiple projects
• Able to handle quick turnarounds in an efficient manner
• Communicate well with internal departments
• Adapt well to evolving environments
• Ability to work with little or no supervision, self-motivated
Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
• Associates Degree / Technical Training
• 3 years of previous Design Engineer experience
Required/Preferred Skills/Training:
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
• Millwork construction or Architectural background a plus
• Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with clients and internal teams
• Ability to problem solve
• Superior organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Typical work hours for position are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, off-hours work and weekend work may be required on a limited basis.
