Job Description

The Resource Industry (RI) Undercarriage Component Application Specialist is expected to be the deep, Go-to-market Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the RI Undercarriage major class of aftermarket parts. This expertise is expected to own/execute the (Go to Market) GTM elements of the Undercarriage (UC) OPACC Improvement Agenda (OIA) Agenda. The RI UC Growth targets for ‘23 are $238M NS&T/$28M OPACC and ‘26 are $476M NS&T/$55M OPACC.

In order to achieve aftermarket parts & services growth, our dealer aftermarket sales teams must be able to articulate the value of Caterpillar parts products and services to our RI customers. This position is expected to own/develop all content applied to all UC MARCOM as well as content and instructor/delivery of all RI UC dealer sales training channels. This position will interact directly with the Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD) UC Component Group, as well as directly with Resource Industries Sales, Services & Technology ( RISST) field sales teams and dealers. Due to the deep expertise, this position may support field sales teams with direct customer interaction. The position is a non-supervisory leadership position for our global customer.

Job Duties:

RI UC OIA Management

• Maintain Line of Sight (LOS) to UC growth targets.

• Ensure OIA project “quality” via Services Marketing gate process discipline.

Voice of the Customer (VOC)/Value Messaging

• Serve aftermarket needs VOC to Machine Business Division (MBDs) /PSLD within New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

• Develop core content (Unique Sales Position) USP/customer value stories for UC.

GTM

• Execute (aligned) go-to-market OIA initiatives for RI UC Components.

Training

• Develop and Deliver core dealer training content, per documented Training Strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

The position requires a college or university degree, or equivalent experience.

10 plus years of undercarriage job-related experience.

Top Candidates will also have:

Ability to understand and articulate global customer needs and requirements along with the technical component performance and application knowledge that allows him/her to be regarded as a global product “expert” in customer economic applications. Must have proven leadership qualities and the ability to defend his/her position with WW PM’s and VPs.

Excellent communication skills and team leadership are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with all business partners.

The location for this position is Tucson, AZ, or Peoria, IL.
