As an EHS Supervisor you will provide on-site leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities in our parts distribution center in Clayton, OH.
Job Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
Provide site leader support the EHS Manager’s absence
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR 5 years of supervisory experience in the EH&S field
Experience with machinery, automation, and documenting safe job procedures for use
Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing plans for EHS improvements.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure the work environment is safe and in compliance with legal requirements and standards. Conducts risk assessments to identify hazards in the business, work areas and work processes.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Experience conducting ergonomic assessments.
Knowledge of health and safety-related consensus standards, including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E.
Exposure to Industrial Hygiene principles such as noise and air monitoring.
Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification, or advanced degree.
Ability to analyze incident trends, developing strategies for reduction using analytical skills.
Experience conducting thorough incident investigations.
Working knowledge of the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation (Ohio BWC).
Experience assessing risk and performing job safety analyses, and personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments.
Flexibility to support a 3-shift operation if necessary, being adaptable to changing priorities.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Employs techniques for motivating personnel to meet or exceed accuracy goals. Demonstrates expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards.
Initiative: Being proactive and committing to action on self-identified job responsibilities and challenges; ability to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

This position requires 5% or less travel
Must be willing to work overtime, cover for other supervisors, as needed
