Facilities Engineering Manager

Career Area: Manufacturing & Supply Chain Job Description: As a Facilities Engineering Manager, you will support a work unit of primarily management and salaried employees where planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing work of that unit is required. The position is responsible for expense budgets, capital forecasts and expenditures, and all personnel issues in the area including performance evaluations of employees. Specifically in this role you can expect to: Leads 2/3 direct reports and 21 indirect employees in the Maintenance Organization Manages all indirect spend at Victoria Facility Considers manpower requirements for each project and utilizes proper engineering resources to provide service. Provides leadership guidance and support for Machine Support & Maintenance Personnel Acts as a troubleshooter and investigates and determines causes for failure, lack of efficiency and need for repairing or improving equipment. Analyzes problems, discusses with other technical personnel and determines most cost-effective method to resolve problem. Ensures proper selection, direction, development, and motivation of all personnel to maintain an effective and efficient work force capable of meeting objectives. To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic qualifications): Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 7 years job-related experience in assembly manufacturing Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite specifically in Excel and PowerPoint Top candidates will also bring: Familiarity with our excavator product line and assembly process Project management experience Proficiency in project planner software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project Planner and other software, such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, Python Lean Certification such as Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Relocation assistance is available for this position ISC is not available for this position How we support you (Employee benefits) Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career including the potential to advance your career into operations leadership and other advanced manufacturing positions.
