What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Cattlemen's Processing?
Cattlemen's Processing is a USDA Inspected beef slaughter and processing facility. Working hours are Mon-Fri 7am-4pm with an hour break from 11am-12pm. All Federal holidays off.
The Quality Assurance & Shipping and Receiving Tech will maintain food safety and quality systems, ensuring that production meets or exceed customer requirements and facilities comply with internal policies and USDA regulations while focusing on continuous improvement. Ensure day-to-day compliance for all food safety and quality regulations, policies, standards and practices. Adhere to all standards and report deviations in completing the activities.
Resposibilities:
- Shipping and receiving
- Ensure that production meets or exceed customer requirements and facilities comply with internal policies and USDA regulations
- Report deviations and complete corrective actions
- Maintain records
- Conduct Pre Operational and operational Inspections
- Gather samples for 3rd party microbiological testing
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of HACCP principles preferred
- Knowledge of USDA FSIS regulations preferred
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures as they relate to the food industry
- Preferred experience in a similar role with an eye for detail and a result driven approach
- Self-starter with demonstrated high level of initiative
- This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as needed for quality assurance monitoring and training, tolerance to cold temperatures, and the ability to work on and around wet concrete floors
