Job Summary:
The Controller position is an integral part of the Home Office, responsible for preparing financial reports that will help the team make operating decisions. The Controller oversees the functions of accounting, audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash controls. The role reports to the Director of Finance and will be instrumental in helping develop the Finance/Accounting Department for a rapidly growing company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
- Help produce the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on profitability, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for external audits.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Proficient in Quickbooks or similar accounting software.
- Proficient in Google Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Three years or more of related experience is required.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Able to travel as needed.
