What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at CBH Homes?
The Construction Estimator is responsible for the oversight of all construction related activities to ensure even flow production, compliance with building codes, and company quality standards, optimization of construction budgets and ensuring adequate distribution of resources.
Production Process Support
- Technical oversight of construction activities ensuring consistent execution, efficient processes and optimum cost effectiveness
- Control the permitting, starts, and scheduling
- Coordinate starts with a goal of even flow construction and release dates
- Weekly production meetings with construction managers
- Oversee safety and safety training
- Ensure compliance with code, regulatory requirements and company quality standard
Trade Coordination
- Responsible for trade relationships
- Negotiating and overseeing all trades and pricing
Team Management
- Lead the construction services team with weekly meetings, 1-1's and annual reviews.
- Help to provide employees with opportunities to further develop strengths and address opportunities for growth
- Resource planning based on production needs and priorities; delegate work based on staff competencies
Requirements
- Ability to plan and prioritize while focusing on detail orientation and effective time management
- Organize ideas clearly, and articulates ideas concisely
- Ability to manage individuals and groups
- Optimize performance of people, including determination of capabilities, integration into teams, allocation of tasks, direction, support, guidance, motivation, and management of performance
- Provides effective feedback, throughout the performance management cycle, to ensure optimum performance
- Participates, as appropriate, in formal processes such as compensation negotiations and disciplinary procedures
- Applies creative problem-solving to address business needs and issues
- Provides assistance, information, or support to others as needed
- Preferred knowledge of BuilderTrend
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Construction Manager role with experience in residential construction
