Position Summary This position will work directly with the Sales Finance Senior Director and Sales Team to provide key analysis and reporting of business and category trends, portfolio performance and gap analysis. The position will be instrumental in the analysis of Wine and Spirits industry trends in Discovery Region States and provide recommendations and insight to the leadership team on current and future strategy. Uses syndicated and in-house data sources to identify issues and quantify sales-related growth opportunities. Ideal candidate will have a thirst for learning, be detail-oriented, possess advanced Excel skills, be comfortable with technology, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where change is seen as opportunity. Responsibilities Provide Sales with actionable financial insights to drive the strategic financial direction for a subset of state(s). Be an active participant in the division decision making process by determining the financial impact of business proposals and trends Responsible for delivering timely and accurate reporting to all levels of Sales leadership. Extract, analyze, and collate data from a variety of sources to create both regular and ad hoc reporting Accountable for ensuring that data is accurate and complete in the Business Unit’s standard financial processes. Proposes and helps to implement improvements in standardization of financial processes Manage the plan and forecast processes inclusive of; volume trend analysis, brand expense review, monthly forecast & variance analysis against multiple scenarios and develops the monthly R&O. Always thinking and planning ahead, communicates up / down / sideways, aligning, re-aligning and brings an inquisitive mindset to the annual cycle Monitor KPI performance to understand impact to business, identify issues and provide key insights and growth opportunities to achieve plan Perform post program analysis; build and maintain what-if financial models Work with the Pricing Execution, Sales & Revenue management teams to optimize pricing and promotional spending Manages all distributor bank reconciliations, non-price tracking/analysis, monthly closing/reporting responsibilities Orchestrates monthly financial reviews of performance & opportunities cross-functionally within the Business Unit and can read audiences and tailor messaging to make it stick Participate in other business unit activities such as Sales & Distributor meetings, market & pricing surveys and account Assist with special projects Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with industry, CPG, or other relevant business experience Proven analytical skills, ability to create compelling fact-based presentations Excellent Microsoft suite proficiency, including superior Excel skills Familiarity with syndicated data Ability to learn proprietary systems and in-house system applications quickly Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently, build strong relationships, initiate action, adjust to change and persuade at all levels, are key competencies of this role Must work well in a fast paced, team-oriented, dynamic and matrix environment. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
