JOB SUMMARY
MEP Equipment Procurement Specialist/Commodity Specialist to support Data Center Power and Cooling equipment purchasing and supply chain operations for a confidential, yet prestigious technology client.
The primary categories of equipment included are back-up power generators, generator enclosures, electrical switchgear, transformers, bus duct and mechanical cooling equipment. Contractor's role will support day-to-day operations, large and complex project deployments, and will work across numerous customer teams.
The best candidate will be hired by CBRE to support Data Center Power and Cooling equipment purchasing and supply chain operations for a confidential, yet prestigious technology client. The primary categories of equipment the team manages are back-up power generators, generator enclosures, electrical switchgear, transformers, busways, mechanical cooling equipment, and integrated modules. This role is specifically going to start supporting the integrated modules team, who develop and deliver infrastructure module products which enable the Client to compete at scale. Contractor's role will support day-to-day operations, large and complex project deployments, and will work across numerous customer teams.
Contractor will also provide the following Services:
Areas of Focus & Responsibility:
Sourcing Processes:
- Coordinate RFIs, RFPs, RFQs with suppliers
- Work cross-functionally to resolve supplier queries
- Assist in the review/decision process
- Help onboard new suppliers in the systems
- Assist with GPN creation
- Assist in aligning client and supplier requirements and inputs process
- Update MRP/systems with supplier selections, lead time adjustments, etc.
- Create benchmark reports
- Help ensure quoted pricing aligns with contractual pricing
- Assist with NPIs
Supplier Evaluation:
- Assist with internal cross-functional supplier reviews
- Monitor, capture, vett, and report supplier KPI data
- Perform analysis on metrics such as cost, TCO, capacity, etc.
- Help with Partner Business Reviews
General Reporting:
- Report Commodity Manager's savings monthly
- Report any changes to lead times, point-of-contacts, entity changes, etc. monthly
- Follow up on adhoc issues from time to time such as PO justification, PO approval process, payment
Purchase Orders:
- Help validate purchase order details for accuracy prior to execution: warranty terms, tax status, incoterms, pricing, payment terms, etc.
- Track and ensure purchase orders and change orders are executed on time
- Help ensure purchase order is within budget and that funds will be available in time
- Help with various issues that may arise with purchase orders, including invoicing
- Work within SAP, o9/MRP, Site Schedules, Supplier Production Plans and other tools as necessary for the day-to-day tasks
In addition to the aforementioned, candidates may be asked to assist with other projects that come up. Overall, strong candidates for this role will be managing multiple vendors, suppliers, and integrators; -- all of which have products that contribute to the overall assembly of that capital equipment that is being purchased by Client then delivered to the data center construction site. Candidates are expected to be able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, to be proactive with resolving issues rather than reactive, and to be able to work cross-functionally to do so.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Minimum four years of related experience. Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
PgMP (Program Management Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

The minimum salary for the Procurement Manager position is $106,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Procurement Manager position is $125,000 annually.
