FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Client Manager at CCIG serves as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and proactive communication. This role involves understanding clients’ organizational goals and employee demographics to provide tailored benefits solutions, coordinating the implementation and management of benefit plans, and ensuring smooth enrollment processes. The Client Manager addresses client inquiries, resolves issues, and advocates on behalf of clients with insurance carriers and benefit providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships based on trust and proactive communication.
  • Understand clients’ organizational goals and employee demographics to provide tailored benefits solutions.
  • Coordinate the implementation and ongoing management of employee benefit plans.
  • Ensure smooth enrollment processes, resolve issues, and address client inquiries related to benefit offerings.
  • Oversee the implementation of new benefit plans, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate existing benefit programs, recommending adjustments or improvements based on utilization trends and client feedback.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with insurance carriers and benefit providers to resolve issues and optimize service delivery.
  • Address escalated client issues promptly and effectively, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., ERISA, ACA) related to employee benefits.
  • Advise clients on compliance matters and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Lead the renewal process for client benefit plans, including negotiation of terms and conditions with carriers.
  • Analyze renewal proposals and recommend adjustments or alternative options to meet client objectives.
  • Develop and deliver employee communication materials related to benefit plans, open enrollment, and policy changes.
  • Conduct employee meetings or seminars to educate and engage employees in understanding their benefits.
  • Work with Underwriter on financial analysis of benefit plans, including cost projections, claims experience, and utilization trends.
  • Prepare client-facing reports and presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services or products that benefit clients and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to expand client relationships and acquire new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Client Executives, Underwriters, Associate Client Managers) to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to Associate Client Managers or junior team members as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must hold Life & Health insurance license for the State of Colorado or be willing to obtain one within an agreed upon timeframe.
  • Proactive participation in continuing education classes.

Work Experience

  • 2 years of experience in Employee Benefits Account Management required.
  • 2 years of similar or related experience preferred

Functional/Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Ability to manage and negotiate multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts. Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Keep informed regarding industry knowledge, new product information, legislation, coverage, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Excel specific to creating, formatting, and evaluating formulas and working within templates. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and other MS Office products along with Adobe products.
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation Information

  • Pay Range: $66,000 - $95,000 (dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
  • Total Compensation = Pay Performance Bonus Benefits

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, and multi-function printers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or listen, frequently stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time, use hands, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Salary : $66,000 - $95,000
