Under general supervision, the Nutrition Specialist II will perform record keeping, monitoring for the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP), and case management duties that meet the needs of Head Start (HS) Birth to Five children and families, as well as plan, coordinate, implement, evaluate and monitor the nutrition services of the HS Birth to Five Program.
This position is full time, 40 hours per week; will work a non-traditional schedule (i.e., weeknights and weekends). This is a hybrid work environment and will consist of working remotely and/or at headquarters’ office location. Will include travel between San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley.

Starting Pay: $26.14 per hour

Within a team environment, the Nutrition Specialist II will perform the following responsibilities:
CASE MANAGEMENT (55%), RECORD KEEPING & MONITORING (30%), and NUTRITION EDUCATION & TRAINING (15%)
Job Specifications |
Minimum Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related health field.
- Experience: Two years of experience in a nutrition related field, preferably for children between 0-5 years of age.
- Professional/Technical Certifications: Holds or has the ability to obtain or qualify for CPR and First Aid Certifications. Must successfully obtain both certifications within 90 days after hire.
- Technical Requirements - List specifics:
- Basic proficiency level using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and databases.
- Technical Requirements
- Bilingual Required: Ability to converse, write and/or translate in English and Spanish
- Travel: This position requires 25% of travel. Will consist of travel to and from Head Start centers including Palmdale and Lancaster and in/out of state conferences. May use CCRC company vehicles, when available or personal vehicle and will be subject to Driver Management Policy requirements (i.e., valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance and a clean driving record required).
- Work environment: This is a hybrid, fast-paced work environment and consist of working remotely and/or at headquarters’ office location.
- Background & Health Clearance Requirements: Head Start / CCP
- Criminal Records (e.g. Live Scan Fingerprinting), Child Abuse Index Check, Sexual Offender Registry, Health and Tuberculosis (TB) test clearances required.
