Crew Lead

1st shift (M-F; 6AM-4PM). Some Saturday work will be required as well.2nd shift (M-F; 4PM-2AM). Some Saturday work will be required as well. Oversees the daily activities of the assigned team and ensures the continuity of workflow and execution of the production schedule. Typically serves as Lead set-Up for department. Performs many of the same duties as team members, but time is split between production and coordinating efforts of the team. ESSENTIAL DUTIESIn conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager, or in his/her absence, reviews daily dispatch list requirements. Oversees work assignments to ensure that production schedules are met. May recommend changes to schedule to optimize production and/or reduce costs.Trains team members to increase skill level and to improve productivity, safety, quality and processes in a cost-effective manner.Monitors production output and ensures that team members are meeting or exceeding production and quality standards. Monitors and reports all discrepancies.Performs set-up and first article run for most complex work orders or machines. Operates all machines and equipment in the department at targeted production and quality targets. Report to Mfg Manager machines, equipment, tooling and other accessories that require maintenance or repair.Provides technical assistance, troubleshoots, resolves or coordinates resolution of technical issues/problems on a proactive basis.May monitors work of up to 15 employees in the Department. Reports any discipline problems to the Manufacturing Manager.Ensure that good housekeeping is always in place.Weekly safety and communication meeting with entire team.Advocate the use of our IMPACTs programOther duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager.REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma preferredMust have clear understanding of basic math and have the ability to read, write and comprehend English (work orders, safety and operational instructions).Minimum of three years of manufacturing leadership environment preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENTSpends 100% of time in the shop. Standing 90% of time.May be exposed to possible shop hazards including heavy machinery, fumes, dust, heat and high pressure and temperatures.
