CDL 1000 is a rapidly growing logistics company focused on transported a wide variety of goods throughout the US for our Government and Commercial customers. Currently, we have an open role in our new division focused on the Southeast Territory (located in Jacksonville, FL) for a full-time DoD Tender Writer.
The DoD Tender Writer is responsible for curating and developing strategic business partnerships with outside service providers and owner-operators. As a DoD Tender Writer, you will work to maximize safety, service, and overall value by forging great relationships with the carriers and communicating with your team members. This will be accomplished by taking on the following responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and provide pricing for DoD and Commercial bids
Modify and maintain pricing matrix as a primary duty to ensure consistent pricing as the markets and load costs fluctuate daily
Provide Spot and rate-based pricing in the DoD/Government (TEAMs)
Cultivate reports as requested to ensure the sales team has up to date information to call out on (vendor location and equipment needs)
Develop, deploy and maintain proposal tools and processes to ensure the company complies with best practices.
Coordinate and support awards with the client and coworkers as awards are issued
Conduct market research as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in a tender writing role
Knowledge and understanding of standards in the Logistics industry for project pursuits and familiarity with industry terms, deliverables and processes
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Skilled in time management and able to meet tight deadlines with all required deliverables
Must be a self-starter with the ability to initiate projects independently while soliciting feedback from all key personnel.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Must have:
2 years of Tender Writing inclusive of cost/pricing, and technical proposal aspects
2 year’s experience with TEAMs software
2 year’s experience with McLeod
Expert level of skill with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
