What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Field Technician position at CDM Smith?
CDM has immediate openings in Louisiana with needs in the Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles and Monroe areas for an INTERMITTENT (Seasonal part-time) environmental technician.
Primary responsibilities include:
Performing sampling of wastewater at various locations and sample shipment to a laboratory for analysis.
Sample days are expected to be between 2 and 8 hours long with sampling completed at least 2 days per week and possibly up to 4 depending on the number of sample sites assigned.
Sampling is expected to continue for several months and possibly through June 2024.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of computer software programs and operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of sampling practices, principals and methods is preferred but not required;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and must be able to work with minimal supervision, and work well with others.
A drivers license and cell phone to travel to field locations to collect samples, and communicate with facility managers and project team members as needed.
Able to lift 25 lbs
