What are the responsibilities and job description for the CEI Inspector position at CDR Maguire?
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering and emergency management consulting firm is seeking CEI Inspectors in the Panama City, FL area for current project and future projects across Florida.
Essential Functions:
- Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.
- Prepare daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules in accordance with CDR Maguire’s and Owner’s requirements.
- Check shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations.
- Keep records of quantities and cost of materials and verify used delivered materials conform to the contract documents.
- Prepare contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.
- Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor and the contractor’s health and safety plan.
- Check contractor’s layout and verify accuracy.
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Infrequently perform manual labor and work in adverse weather conditions.

- Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor.
- Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
- Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume.
- Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection to include one (1) year in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- 1 years of experience with FDOT.
- Civil Engineering degree (with the required certificates listed below) can substitute for the needed experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Qualifications:
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures)
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- CTQP Final Estimates Level
Certifications:
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification
- Program for Inspectors and Contractors
