What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatics Manager position at Cedar Fair?
We are currently seeking an Manager of Aquatics to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Wildwater Kingdom attractions at Dorney Park. In addition to oversight of Wildwater Kingdom attractions, this role will assist with fall entertainment operations by hiring, leading, and managing talent day to day as assigned. You'll work with other divisional managers to complete tasks and projects and assist in other divisional departments.
How You'll Make A Difference:
- Oversees the operations of Dorney Park’s Wildwater Kingdom waterpark. To include recruiting/ hiring, training, and maintaining company standard operating procedures
- Clearly describe and assign responsibility and authority for the operation, maintain cleanliness, efficiency of operations and outstanding guest service.
- Maintains an open line of communication with leadership and front-line associates in the department
- Ability to inspire and motivate associates to work together and exceed expectations
- Develops, trains and models operational SOP’s and Ellis and Associates program guidelines
- Establishes, maintains, and enforces location specific operating standards and policies
- Works collaboratively with all Dorney park divisional department heads and participates in overall Operations manager on duty shifts.
- Develops and manages the labor and expense budget for the department
- Use problem solving skills to identify and address guest complaints, resolve issues with associates and address any other issues that affect the guest experience.
- Develop detailed, realistic, and comprehensive plans that support Cedar Fair’s organizational objectives
- Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific park procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment
- Other duties as assigned
We're Looking For:
- Eligibility and ability to obtain a Jeff Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program Instructor or Instructor Trainer license
- Ability to be a certified Pool Operator and the ability to advise on pool chemistry and filtration as necessary and according to CPO protocol
- Ability to learn and perform CPR and Basic First Aid and maintain current certification
- 3-5 years of related experience in a theme park, or water park operation including 2 or more years in a supervisory role
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
- Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years or older, which may include but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references per company policy unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law
- College Degree
- Must be able to work outdoors, stand for long periods of time , walk long distances, and climb multiple flights of stairs
