Description of the Job:
As a Snow Removal Crew Leader or Crew Member, you will operate a variety of snow removal and salt spreading equipment including, but not limited to, hand salt spreaders, shovels, snowrators, and snow blowers.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Shoveling snow safely and efficiently from commercial properties, including, but not limited to multifamily locations, sidewalks, pedestrian pathways, driveways, dock areas, and the exteriors of high trafficked pedestrian and traffic areas using, shovel, snow blowers, and snowrators.
- Shoveling of snow to clear entrances, sidewalks, driveways, loading areas, walking pathways, among others in winter conditions including snow, snow/rain mix, extreme weather and temperatures
- Shovels snow to create a safe pathway for the public, pedestrians, and traffic
- Salt-Spreading on sidewalks, and walking pathways by using hand used salt spreaders, shovels, and buckets
- Be on call during the winter months for all snow and ice events
- May assist during an ice storm with salt spreading by operating other hand-held equipment.
- Report any damages or other snow and ice management issues to Snow Area Supervisor.
- Ensures work is being conducted in a safe manner, and maintains work areas safe for the employee, the customer, public and the environment.
- Perform at a high and safe level of productivity
- Prepare truck, equipment and materials needed for the day
- Managing and overseeing the crew’s efficiency and quality
- Training and developing crew members
- Ensure work is being conducted safely for the employees, the customers, the public and our environment
- Work alongside, delegate, and distribute work according to job site size, time, and available resources
- Responsible for final inspection of job sites
- Safely operating tools and equipment.
- Equipment care and general maintenance.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s license with acceptable driving record for Crew Leaders
- Able to safely operate commercial vehicles and trucks with trailers
- Trainable, coachable, and able to grasp new concepts quickly
- Able to work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Be punctual and reliable
- Accountability to themselves and to their team
- Ownership of Job
- Be someone others want to work with
- Able to work throughout the day, including nights, weekends and able to report on time
- Able to lift, bend, walk repeatedly in winter conditions
- Able to be on-call and have a flexible work schedule
- Able to communicate well with others and able to read site maps
- Able to work in different weather elements including and not limited to extreme cold, snow, wind, and rain
