Urgently need Azure cloud architect
- Architect and lead the build-out of platform on Azure & migration from on-prem systems.
- Understand the existing on-prem technology landscape & implementations and recommend the best strategy & solutions to deliver on cloud.
- Design and build large scale data storage, compute and distribution systems
- Evaluate, select, and implement new tools and frameworks to expand our platform capabilities.
- Provide data engineers, quant engineers and researchers with technical advice and guidance on the best data practices on cloud
- Build relationships and partner with core architecture & engineering teams across BlackRock
- Mentor and upskill fellow team members
- Work across time zones in a distributed tea
Good to have
- A solid understanding of cloud data platforms/services such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Informatica IICS, Databricks etc.
- Expert knowledge of data modelling and understanding of different data stores and their benefits and limitations under particular use cases.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python. Knowledge of Java, Scala and distributed technologies such as Spark, Kubernetes is a plus.
- Desire to build deep expertise in cloud native technologies and design of applications .
