What are the responsibilities and job description for the Initiative Manager HPW position at CEE?
We are seeking a driven person that is motivated by our mission to discover and deploy the most effective strategies to reduce energy use and carbon emissions. This person will join our new Market Transformation Team at CEE. This Team is responsible for scoping, designing, and implementing a portfolio of emerging technology initiatives, to accelerate the adoption of new energy efficient technologies in Minnesota.
The Initiative Manager for High Performance Windows (HPW) will be responsible for implementing the HPW initiative strategy and launching market interventions to increase technology adoption. This initiative will focus on residential window products with a U-value of 0.22 or less. This initiative is a key part of the Market Transformation portfolio, and this position will be responsible for implementing pilots, market engagement, and other market intervention strategies in partnership with other team members and market partners. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and adaptive in their approach to work and have experience with HPW, residential new construction or retrofits, and energy efficiency.

CEE is a community-based clean energy nonprofit with offices in the North Loop of Minneapolis and St. Paul's Midway. We provide practical energy solutions for homes, businesses, and communities to cut energy waste and harmful emissions. In 2023, CEE is launching a statewide market transformation program that will accelerate the adoption and availability of emerging energy efficiency technologies. Responsibilities
- Develop strategies for market interventions that will achieve initiative goals
- Manage and implement strategic interventions to accelerate adoption of HPW
- Develop and maintain relationships with key market actors in the windows industry
- Assist with market analysis and adapt strategies based on results
- Engage with utility stakeholders to understand perspectives and align activities and outcomes
- Work with national partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment on activities, best practices, and to leverage opportunities in other regions
- Develop and deliver educational tools and resources to key market actors
- Work with communications and marketing team to develop and execute a marketing plan, including key program tools and resources
- Understand and clearly communicate the energy savings potential and customer benefits for HPW to homeowners, contractors, and other key market actors
- Manage initiative budget and work to gain leveraged funds and increase the scale of activities with external partners
- Collaborate nationally to understand activities, best practices, and opportunities in other regions
- Select and manage subcontractors as needed to complete the initiative activities
- Work with market research and evaluation team to track and monitor product market share and other market progress indicators (MPIs)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in relevant field required
- Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in the window or residential new construction industry or comparable experience in energy efficiency or related industry
- Experience with the residential window supply chain and sales process preferred
- Understanding of residential window market and technology
- Demonstrated ability to learn and understand technical details within a given field
- Demonstrated experience with project management, including developing workplans, coordinating/managing the work of others, and responsibility for producing work products
- Demonstrated experience developing tools and resources and/or delivering presentations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to craft clear and compelling deliverables
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of teams and external partners
- Energy efficiency program implementation experience preferred
- Desire to work for a mission-driven organization and play a role in addressing climate challenge
