We are looking to hire a qualified, compassionate, and hard-working Front of House Leader to join the team at our bakery in Richmond, RI!
Our team members facilitate celebration and joy, delivering happiness through delicious pastries and beverages.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Reports to the owner
- Works in partnership with the BOH team
- Holds a certification of food safety and/or managerial training
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for employees and customers
- Advise staff on appropriate ways to resolve issues with fellow employees and customers
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to promote loyalty
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
- Open and/or close the bakery front of house
- Open and close register (count cash, perform payouts daily or weekly)
- Enforce company policies and procedures
- Ensure proper food handling
- Monitor the quality and freshness of FOH product
- Mindful practices avoid cross-contamination
- Maintain cleanliness in the FOH - tables, chairs, windows, bathrooms, countertops, etc.
- Prepare a variety of espresso-based drinks
- New coffee and tea drink menu development
- Train on drink preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
- Assist customers by boxing up treats, serving coffee and other beverages, answering questions, and taking pre-orders
- Answer phone calls, take pre-orders in person and over the phone
- Communicate any customer requests for changes to orders with the BOH manager
- Consolidate the pastry case as product is sold
- Merchandising and inventory tracking
- Create social media content
- Accept product deliveries from our vendors
- Ensure the accuracy of signs and pricing
- Delegate tasks as needed
- Fill in/complete tasks as needed if a team member is out, which may involve adjusting tasks around to fit better with staffing and ensure that everything runs smoothly
- Organize pop-ups in the space
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- At least 1 year of leadership experience in a bakery or coffee shop environment
- Strong people management skills and ability to oversee varying levels of employees
- Desire to challenge oneself as a leader and build a strong team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow team members, customers, and vendors
- High level of customer service experience
- Energetic, outgoing personality; looking to build relationships both with our team and guests
- Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines
- Experience with square POS systems preferred
- Commitment and enthusiasm to the company mission
- Ability to work 30-35 hours per week
- AM/PM/Weekend availability Wednesday through Sunday
- Ability to follow directions and established procedures
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to work quickly and precisely in high-pressure, busy situations
