As a Soft Goods Designer, you will conceptualize and develop new products that enhance the lives of our client's customers. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of Soft Goods Design, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to create compelling customer experiences for the next generation of products. The ideal candidate is a creative and experienced individual with a passion for innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teams located in Exton, PA facility, taking direction from the Soft Goods Design Manager.
- Create and develop designs for new products and support updates for existing products as required.
- Manage your workload to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
- Define aspects of form, aesthetics, and user interfaces through a broad creative skillset.
- Partner with core Design specialisms including Industrial Design (ID), Color & Trend, Fashion, Usability, and Craftsmanship.
- Work independently and directly with our US-based Design Team.
- Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain teams from our global offices in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.
- Ensure adherence to Brand and Product architecture guidelines.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design in Soft Goods/Fashion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design or a related field.
- Ability to travel at least once per quarter.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Basic awareness of flat pattern and draping principles.
- Working knowledge of basic ergonomic principles as they relate to Soft Goods Design.
- Working knowledge of selecting fabric and filler materials appropriate to product specifications. Ability to design production-ready concepts.
- Familiar with phases, activities, and deliverables in the manufacturing process, and assists in solving manufacturing problems.
- Ability to sew prototypes with high accuracy and comfort working with high complexity designs using various types of industrial sewing machines.
- Demonstrated skill in rapid ideation, form development, drawing ability, material knowledge, and market awareness.
- Understanding of visual composition principles and ability to create compelling visual presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to use vector, raster, and presentation software.
