JOB DESCRIPTION:
ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR
- Knowledge of regional school finance, reporting, budgeting, borrowing and investments
- Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to work with numerous departments and agencies within District, Government agencies, and/or other entities
- Competency with Business Technology applications as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to work independently
- Previous background in working with an integrated Accounting Software System such as Infinite Visions
RESPONSIBILTIES
- Manages all account receivables for the District.Acts as general accountant and preserves all accounts, vouchers and contracts relating to the school
- Directs all financial accounting
- Sets up and controls encumbrance accounting system
- Provides accounting services essential to the preparation, administration, control of the budget
- Provides monthly cash flow analysis
- Supports Accounts Payable processes and procedures
- Monitors and maintains separate accounts for the revolving and grant funds
- Verifies all school accounts monthly, Including but not limited to Student Activity accounts, Athletics Preschool and Food Services accounts
- Verifies deposits of all revenues collected ; Monthly Cash Reconciliation
- Assists the Assistant Superintendent with the completion of the End of Year report to the Dept. of Education
- Provides necessary training and support to other staff
- Reviews and prepares bid documents in compliance with MA procurement laws
- Prepares reports and cooperates with the auditors, providing information and reports as requested
- Evaluates business services and recommends improvements as necessary
- Completes reports when necessary and maintains records for all district liability insurance accounts
- Maintains district compliance with all applicable federal, state and municipal laws
- Reviews and prepares bid documents in compliance with MA prcurement laws
- Provides support to annual budgeting process
- Must work in conjunction with the District's Treasurer
- Performs other duties as needed and directed by the Superintendent and Director of Finance and Operations
REQUIREMENTS
- Associates degree or previous experience in accounting field
- Must be self-directed and able to multi-task priorties
- Knowledge of fund accounting and background in spreadsheet analysis
- Previous Job experience
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a team player and possess the ability to work well with others
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Director of Finance may find appropriate and acceptable
