What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applicator position at Central Valley Ag?
PURPOSE
As an Applicator at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for the application of agronomy products and to perform needed maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Load, handle, and apply dry and liquid fertilizer, lime, and crop protection products.
Understand and safely operate the application equipment assigned.
Utilize the information supplied and the technology in the application equipment to ensure that the right products at the right rates are applied and billed to the right fields and customers.
Assist in the mixing, loading, unloading and transporting of Crop Protection and fertilizer products.
Assist with inventory management.
Works with supervisor and co-workers to keep errors to a minimum.
Provide excellent customer service.
Consistently follows all laws, regulations, and safety rules (including PPE) in handling and applying products and storing chemicals.
Assist with the maintenance of equipment and plant.
Maintain positive communication with the supervisor and grower as needed
Assist with scouting, product transportation and various services for producers
Properly complete necessary paperwork and records
Assist with other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory roles with the position
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
High School or GED diploma
Must be licensed and insurable to drive
Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker and HazMat endorsements
Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Applicator’s License
Knowledge of DOT or DOT experience preferred.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external customers.
Great basic mechanical skills.
Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority. Promotes a work environment that is safe for everyone.
