CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Contract Health Care Professionals (HCPs) shall perform essentially the same services as those required by any Air Force or Government service HCP of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. Therefore, while specific tasks are outlined as listed below, responsibilities include but are not necessarily inclusive of tasks in which the HCP shall provide. All services shall be performed in accordance with established principles, practices, and ethics of the medical, and specialty professions/organizations. The standards of performance for all HCP provided by contractor shall reflect the degree of care, skill, and learning expected of a reasonably prudent Clinical Psychologist. Required Qualification: 1. Must possess an Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology 2. Internship/Residency: Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association. Certified through the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) 3. Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service specific credentialing instructions. 4. Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands. 5. Must possess current American Health Association Basic Life Support card for Healthcare Providers. Job Responsibilities. The Clinical Psychologist areas of responsibility shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following. • Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities such as, but not limited to the following: Quality Improvement meeting, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and others required by applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative. • Conduct applied research and clinical investigations in clinical/behavioral health psychology. • Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced based therapies, and psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders. The CENTRALCARE INCORPORATED FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY (FIUO) Page 2 of 2 following are desirable skills: • Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, alcohol and drug treatment evaluations. • Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as required. • Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required. • Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress) 12 • Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required. • Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress) Staffing and Scheduling: The performance hours of the MTF are as follows: • Hours are Mondays through Fridays, no more than 40 hours per week (32 hours when there is a Federal Holiday. Exact shift will be determined by the government supervisor.
