Job Description
Position Purpose:
To provide prompt and courteous customer service to students and staff as the primary cashier.
Nature and Scope:
This position works under general supervision of the Fiscal Analyst 4.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary person responsible for the cashiering function in the cashier office. This consists of assisting students with payment options and directing them on the correct process.
- Create departmental receipts for all outside scholarship payments received and add to spreadsheet for tracking.
- Works closely with Admissions, Counseling and Running Start staff to ensure accuracy of student accounts.
- Respond to requests for information, clarification, or guidance and provide the same through individual research and review, which may require knowledge/understanding of computer-based procedures and systems, including utilization of existing data retrieval and computer programs.
- Add and remove service indicators daily as needed.
- Run negative balance report daily and process student refunds.
- Work with Financial Aid regarding any unapplied aid on student accounts.
- Provide back-up for waiver assignment.
- Maintain and update Cashier procedures as needed.
- Assist with communication efforts to students regarding account balances as needed or as time allows.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality, and ensure sensitive data is protected per FERPA guidelines.
- Attending all training required and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent
AND
Eighteen months of fiscally-related work such as bank teller or retail salesclerk
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
Conditions of Employment
There is one 15 hours per week year round position. Classified employees are represented by the Washington State Federation of State Employees (WFSE).
DEADLINE: The postion will close March 31, 2024. The screening committee will begin their review April 1, 2024.
COMPENSATION
Monthly Salary: Range 32 ($1,051.88 - $1,357.13)
