The Logistics Manager will be critical to the efficiency of Centranz's supply chain and commitment to customer service. They will direct and coordinate the daily activities of shipping and receiving operations, including supervision of department staff, maintaining an efficient, accurate flow of incoming and outgoing parts and products, and managing inventory.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Negotiate with shipping providers to optimize service and cost.
- Inform appropriate parties and document discrepancies or nonconformities that impact billing, production, orders or quality.
- Spearhead general shipping and receiving flow and inventory items (purchased and produced) and assist in solving any concerns that may arise.
- Supervise logistics staff: assess team members’ performance and support training and development activities as appropriate to build on strengths and weaknesses.
- Oversee inbound receiving, ensuring timely receiving, accuracy and storage.
- Oversee outgoing orders and shipments are properly packaged and documented.
- Ensure your team quotes, schedules and traces LTL freight in a timely manner.
- Assure your team verifies payment with accounting on all orders prior to shipping.
Direct Responsibilities:
- Manage pending orders throughout the order cycle from order activation to shipment and ensure on-time shipment.
- Actively maintain acceptable inventory levels.
- Closely monitor expected ship dates and notify purchasing manager of any missing items to complete the order.
- Coordinate with vendors as appropriate and determine shipping priorities and methods required to meet shipping schedules.
- Finalize all Work Orders for cost analysis purposes in a timely manner.
- Manage all aspects of international shipping and receiving.
- Perform other tasks as warranted or assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or similar field preferred.
- 3 years experience in logistics/inventory control/warehouse shipping and receiving.
- Experience with LTL shipping, freight forwarders and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Computer proficiency.
- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift at least 50 lbs.
