Structural Designer

Job Summary / Overview:

• We are currently seeking a Structural Designer for our office in Downtown Florence, AL. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of drafters under the direct supervision of the Design Manager. He/she will often work and collaborate with engineers and other technical staff members on a wide range of projects to produce 3D models and various 2D drawings associated with Oil and Gas piping systems and production equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Associates Degree in Design / Drafting (acceptable)
• Experience with AutoCAD
• 2-3 years experience in the steel fabrication
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Ability to adhere to established design and drawing standards
• Time management skills and high attention to detail

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Autodesk Plant3D / P&ID is preferred but not required
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks is required
• Experience creating site plans and equipment layouts
• Experience with creating orthographic and/or isometric drawings from 3D models
• Experience with creating line, valve and equipment lists
• Experience with skid-mounted equipment designs and knowledge of fabrication processes
• Instrumentation and Electrical knowledge is preferred but not required

Other Requirements:

• In order to ensure quality in designs, occasional field visits may be required to check and / or as-built piping and equipment. At which time, the successful candidate must be able neatly create sketches and use a tape measure. He / She must be willing to adhere to company safety policies including but not limited to wearing of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

Pay:

• Will be based on experience and qualifications.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
