Sr Design Engineer

A growing Long Island Defense Contractor is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their team. Centroid, Inc. is a defense electronics manufacturer with a 60-year history of solving some of the military’s most difficult engineering and sourcing challenges. We are looking for a candidate with the following experience/qualifications: BS Electrical Engineering (Required) with 7 years of directly related experience. Strong Communication and Teamwork Skills in a Cross-Functional Environment Analog and Digital Circuit Design, Simulation, and Analysis Proficient with Microcontroller design and firmware Strong troubleshooting skills using test equipment (oscilloscope, DVM’s, Data logger, ESS, etc.) Skilled with schematic capture, PCB layout and board design Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g. Aerospace, Automotive or Medical) Roles and Responsibilities: Engineering Documentation Processes and Configuration Management Selection and evaluation of components for new designs and obsolescence Planning and performing product verification and certification testing, including development of test requirements. Generation of Detailed Test Reports Problem solving across multiple disciplines or functions. Work with Operations and Quality to resolve manufacturing and quality challenges related to product design, methods, processes, tooling and test equipment. Provide technical support for production of complex products. Support reverse engineering legacy products and/or dealing with limited info. The following additional credentials are desired, but not required: MS Electrical Engineering Knowledge of Government First Article and Production Lot Testing Requirements Power Supply Design and Testing Experience maintaining Engineering BOMs in ERP/MRP Systems Interpretation of Mechanical Drawings for Machined Components Familiar with Solidworks Experience coordinating with Vendors and External Engineering Partners Knowledge of Military technical and documentation requirements Broad experience across several engineering disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical, industrial, etc.) Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
