Summary: Responsible for providing an exceptional customer service experience and contribute to improving the financial wellness of our customers. Ensures tellers are performing work based on standards.
Essential Functions
- Supervise the teller functions for the Branch including the daily teller balance report.
- Receive checking and savings deposits - verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back, and issue receipts of deposit.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate cash for the entire branch.
- Buy/Sell cash from Federal Reserve as needed and disburse money to tellers.
- Responsible for balancing ATM.
- Conduct periodic audit to ensure tellers are in compliance with teller limits and Watchdog.
- Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements.
- Process savings withdrawals.
- Manage/assign vault duties and special duties as needed.
- Cash checks - verify endorsement, receive proper identification, and ensure validity.
- Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies.
- Cross-sell bank products and services.
- Refer customers to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
- Issue personal money orders and cashier’s checks.
- Accept loan payments - verify payment amount and issue receipts.
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
- Ensure teller station is properly supplied.
- Maintain daily over/short list.
- Maintain target cash daily.
- Balance drawer daily, including periodic batching of cashed checks; investigate and resolve out-of-balance conditions.
- Maintain appropriate currency logs.
- Follow all bank policies and procedures.
- Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Federal Reserve’s “lettered” regulations, and Teller roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
- Must be individually driven and motivated to work as a team to achieve branch goals.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers during difficult situations
- Must have excellent customer service skills and a good attitude.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Graduation from high school or equivalent GED.
- Some college or post graduate technical training preferred.
- A minimum of two year’s teller experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
- Excellent computer and keyboard skills.
- Good organizational skills
