Machine Shop – Machinist Supervisor
$23-$25 Hourly
Job Description:
The Machinist Shop Supervisor position has the responsibility to oversee Machine Shop operations efficiently, safely, and accurately. Following PPR policy and quality standards as well as all regulatory standards is a must. The Supervisor will be required to lead a team of up to 10 people which includes training, reviews, productivity, quality, hours, and more. The Machine Shop Supervisor must have strong adherence to safe work practices and assist in maintaining a safe and clean work area for all job duties.
Duties:
· Program, set up, and operate CNC, Manual Mill, and Lathe Machines
· Read and interpret 2-D engineering drawings
· Utilize instrument and gage inspection equipment
· Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as needed
· Prepares and verifies settings by measuring positions, perform first-run part checks, and adjust settings as required
· Maintains specifications by observing machine processes, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting and replacing tools as needed
· Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
· Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills
· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
· Maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures
Requirements:
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must be able to read and understand English
· Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to bend and lift from floor or from within a parts storage basket
· Must meet minimum attendance requirements
Qualifications:
· 2 years’ Machine operator experience
· Proven leadership experience
· Proficient with basic machinist math skills
· Working knowledge of precision measuring tools and print reading required
· Working knowledge of basic troubleshooting for machining processes
Training:
· Safety training including the use and care of PPE
· Standard orientation
· Department or area workflow
· Job specific work instructions

Hours:
7:00 am – 3:30 pm M-F
This position will require mandatory overtime as scheduled by the department supervisor. This may include evenings and weekends.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
