CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Civil Designer to join our Infrastructure – Aviation & Design Team from Evansville or Indianapolis, IN.

 

CHA believes our employees should have the time and flexibility to balance work and personal commitments. This role provides the option of a hybrid schedule with a work week that includes both office and work from home days.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA has provided planning, design, construction, and asset management services to the nation’s top airports for more than half a century. Through our work on countless aviation projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, our dedicated aviation professionals have built strong working relationships with the FAA and state transportation offices. We have an in-depth understanding of state and federal regulations, as well as the technical requirements and challenges faced by modern airports.

 

The Civil Designer assists with the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and documents. This individual collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

 

At CHA, our Civil Designer attains knowledge of the engineering discipline standards, codes, and systems through assisting with contract document preparation. This professional examines drawings for errors and uses drawing production software (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation etc.) to create construction documents.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field required
  • No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
  • Familiar with discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist senior staff
  • Occasional travel (less than 5% of the time)
