FULL TIME FARM OPERATOR

Chaffin Farms is a diversified growing cash crop family farm with focus on Organic Farming & Manure Management. We operate approximately 10,000 acres located in Ithaca MI. We are searching for a skilled Farm Operator who will have opportunities to be involved in all aspects of the farm from planting, cultivating, disking, manure conservation practices with infrastructure development in the field including but not limited to driving truck, maintenance & irrigation. Mechanical ability & a good work ethic is strongly considered a plus.

A Successful candidate may include but not limited to: crop farm experience, working knowledge of agriculture production. Must be hard -working, self-motivated, knowledge to trouble shoot, provide repairs on equipment, ability to work systematically & independently, detail oriented, strong communication skills and eager to learn.

Requirements:

Preferred High School Diploma or GED

A Valid Michigan Driver’s license

A Clean driving record

CDL class A (or the ability to obtain one) will accept an “F” endorsement while obtaining A

Must be physically fit & able to lift 50lbs

Must pass a drug test

Be able to work in all weather conditions

A secondary education is a plus (agriculture, diesel mechanics or equivalent work experience)

Ability to adapt to a stressful fast paced environment
