Employment Specialist/Job Coach

Challenge is hiring for a Job Coach/Employment Specialist!

This position will provide vocational support services to individuals with disabilities working towards or working in community jobs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Conduct outreach to employers in community for purposes of placing clients in jobs, internships or work place assessments. Perform observation, skill assessment and evaluation of recipient’s service needs. Develop and implement job training and accommodations for service recipients in community placements. Develop and implement strategies to promote natural supports and independence in work and work-related activities. Work with other service staff to implement program services that support individuals with disabilities to reach highest level of employability and independence. Complete required documentation and billing. Maintain knowledge and follow policies and procedures of funding and licensing agencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA preferred but not required for right combination of experience.
• Valid and acceptable NYS Driver’s License
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Experience coaching, teaching or training helpful
• Experience in sales or customer service helpful

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
