Description
Summary
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting employees, with tasks and HR functions, participating in the hiring and onboarding process, and other general HR tasks and administrative duties.
Qualifications
At least two semesters of college coursework or two years of experience in Human Resources, Office Administration, Management or other related fields.
Demonstrates a friendly and approachable demeanor that creates a welcoming environment for staff.
Ability to work responsibly with confidential material.
Ability to work with several computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent personal communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Ability to work on weekends and evenings as necessary.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Positive CAN-DO team attitude.
Supervision
The Human Resources Assistant reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Assistant does not supervise any faculty, part-time staff or intern.
Classification
Non-Exempt, hourly
Part-Time 1 (not to exceed 29 hours a week)
Essential Functions
Oversee the hiring process from screening candidates to sending offer letters
Assist hiring managers with interviews for candidates for seasonal and part-time positions
Coordinate availability of multiple people to schedule interviews
Complete the onboarding process with all new hires including completing criminal background checks, and driver’s abstract records, sending onboarding documents, and assigning tasks as needed
Lead orientation presentation for all new hires
Maintain, electronic and paper employee files, notes, and other important documents
Maintain information stored in HRIS (Paycom)
Coordinate the long-term storage of permanent records.
Attend job fairs and host recruitment events as needed
Other duties as assigned.
