Responsibilities :
- Prepare athletes for competition and represent ChampionsTX at competitions
- Plan and lead gymnastics workouts for students of various ages and skill levels; specifically tailored for our Xcel Pre-team, Bronze, and Silver competitive athletes
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive budget for the Xcel program
- Serve as a positive role model when evaluating the progress of athletes and communicating with team parents
- Lead individuals in a team setting, support the team culture, and create an atmosphere for athlete's success
- Model behaviors and perform the tasks assigned with enthusiasm that reflects and supports the company's values
- Develop students across all learning domains including physical, mental, emotional and social skills
- Commit to the continued growth of the team program
- All team coaches are also expected to contribute time to our recreational program which will in turn help build and promote our team program.
- Teach proper techniques and form for required gymnastics skills communicating in various ways
- Create and implement lesson plans that focus on skill development, strength training, flexibility, and coordination
- Ensure the safety of all students by providing proper spotting techniques and appropriate teaching of skill progressions
- Execute team parties including an end of year competitive banquet
Qualifications :
- Previous experience as a competitive gymnastics coach is preferred
- Competent understanding of the Xcel Code of Points is preferred
- Working knowledge of USAG rules and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, parents, and other staff members
- Ability to demonstrate and teach proper form and technique for gymnastics skills
- Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback to help students improve
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus otherwise, we will pay for your certification!
