Construction equipment sales staff for Champlain Valley Equipment are responsible for all aspects of creating, developing, and maintaining relationships with our construction customers. Duties include, but are not limited to, promoting and selling light construction and other miscellaneous equipment. Our Construction equipment sales staff represent the whole company and our brand in prominent and significant settings.

· Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
· Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
· Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
· Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
· Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems or provide ongoing support.
· Indentify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
· Make cold calls on the road to current and prospective customers.
· Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
· Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
· Obtain credit information about prospective customers.
· Train customers' employees to operate and maintain new equipment, as needed.
· Prepare sales contracts and order forms, negotiate details of contracts and payments, and maintain records related to sales.
· Attend training as required and requested by vendors and CVE.
· Coordinate equipment set-up and deliveries of retail equipment with service department(s).
· Keep work area and vehicle neat and professional. Clean and maintain assigned company vehicle as needed.
· Maintain daily call log along with vehicle mileage.
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to think independently
· Good mechanical aptitude
· Fundamental computer skills
· Valid driver's license and clean MVR
