ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Summary/Objective:
The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
- Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
- Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
- Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
- Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Attend recruiting events/job fairs to recruit qualified candidates and promote the company.
- Coordinate and plan employee events such as the roadeo/picnic and holiday party.
- Other duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Participate with the HR department in performing monthly site visits to all locations, including presence at Chaney Chats.
- Fill in as needed for colleagues.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Work Environment:
- Work time will be indoors/office.
- Noise level will be low.
Physical Demands:
- Lift a maximum weight of 35 lbs. and carry up to 35 lbs. on occasion.
- Sit approximately 6 hours per day and walk or stand the other 2 hours per day.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Experience in the field of Human Resources (2-year minimum).
Special Skills:
- Written communication, verbal communication, and mathematical skills.
- Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office with a focus on Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- Knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Certifications:
- SHRM member (preferred)
- PHR or SHRM-CP (preferred)
Industry Related Experience or Skills:
- Background in concrete, construction, mining operations or transportation (preferred).
Education Required: High School
Preferred Education: College/Undergrad
Bilingual in Spanish Preferred: Yes
