What do we look for in a Sleep Away Camp Volunteer?
- Volunteer will assist with Sleep Away Camp activities, including supervision, crafts, games, and camp activities
- Responsible for building relationships with each individual camper, facilitating and managing friendships in the cabin group, resolving conflicts, caring for the needs of each camper, and fostering growth
- Sleep Away Camp volunteers are assigned to a specific program area and will be trained on all activities within that program area
- Attend all trainings necessary
- Work with unit heads, program directors or other staff to meet the needs of the campers
- Volunteer will assist with supervising campers during all activities
- Enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures
- Volunteers may be asked to perform other Away Camp duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance, if over 18 years old
