Position purpose:
The Cashier/Receptionist receives all incoming calls to the dealership and forwards calls to the appropriate associate/department. This associate receives and receipts payment from customers in the Service, Parts, and Sales Departments. Represents the dealership in a friendly and professional manner.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Receives incoming calls to the dealership in a friendly and professional manner. Directs calls to the appropriate associate and/or department. Takes detailed messages for unanswered call(s)/page(s).
Forwards any/all messages taken for an associate in a timely manner.
Provides basic helpful information to callers with general inquires.
Greets customers entering Cashier/Receptionist area prompt and friendly directing the customer to the appropriate department.
Receives cash, check or credit card payment(s) for the Service, Parts and Sales Departments. Issues cash receipt for funds received from Sales Department on a Buyer’s Order.
Requests customer’s signature on Service and Parts Invoices at time of payment, records type of payment on invoice and issues customer’s keys upon payment of services.
Refers service customers who have additional questions to the Service Advisor or Service Manager.
Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise, refers the customer to the appropriate associate for further assistance.
Responsible for Daily Cash Drawer, Cash Spiff Fund and providing change for customers and associates as needed.
Qualifications:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information, both written and oral.
Special Position Requirements:
Position has no direct supervisory responsibility or authority. Position works in dealership personnel and has unlimited contact with customers and vendors.
Preferences:
Friendly and positive reception experience.
