Role: The Verifications & Authorizations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of insurance verification and authorization processes including nursing home room and board invoicing and Medicaid eligibility screening processes. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with CHS policies and procedures in addition to providing administrative oversight of these activities as they relate to revenue cycle and related systems. Qualifications: Associates degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education Minimum of three (3) years of related insurance verification and authorization experience, preferably in a Hospice environment Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience Strong supervisory skills including training, ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are implemented and consistently followed Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking, organizational skills, and knowledge of regulatory requirements appropriate for the position Knowledge of Hospice billing and regulations preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining proactive, detailed oriented, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism Strong computer skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database Excellent written and verbal communication skills Competencies: Satisfactorily complete competency requirements for this position. Regulatory Compliance: Educate and monitor staff regarding their own and the Organization's responsibilities for regulatory compliance. Job Responsibilities: Provide training, feedback, and ongoing support to assigned team members including identifying areas of improvement and ensuring that team members have the necessary resources and tools to perform their job duties. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and stay up to date with changes in regulatory requirements. Review and report on performance metrics related to insurance verification and authorization to identify trends and patterns. Assist with pre month-end and month end close processes to ensure accurate claim generation. Ensure timely submission of accurate time sheets and approve payroll. Manage productivity of assigned direct reports, ensuring continuity of operations and adequate coverage. Resolve escalated issues related to insurance coverage, authorizations, and nursing home room and board Ensure accuracy and completeness of insurance verification, authorization and nursing home invoicing Perform regular review of policies and procedures to ensure they remain up to date and are consistently followed; Proactively identify changes that need to be made. Proactively communicate issues and suggestions for process improvements to the Manager of Front End Revenue Cycle; Support Manager of Front End Revenue Cycle with various initiatives and goals. Serve as subject matter expert for systems utilized in area of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
