Position Description
Drew Charter School is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Recruitment Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a key role in attracting and recruiting top talent to our school. Under limited supervision, they will manage and lead the school's efforts to recruit and retain highly qualified and effective teachers in the school. Implements the school’s recruitment plan and recommends retention strategies. Develops positive relationships with teacher education programs and other agencies to support recruitment and retention initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and manages strategic recruitment plans to attract high-quality candidates for open teaching and staff positions;
  • Advertise job openings through various channels such as job boards, social media, college/university career centers, and community outreach;
  • Builds and executes a social media strategy for recruitment.
  • Works closely with the Director of Communications to develop (and continually update) recruitment materials and advertise recruitment activities.
  • Assists with maintaining a career fair schedule. Attends university career fairs and various agency events for recruiting purposes. Includes strong teachers and administrators on recruitment teams. Assists with planning for appropriate staff to attend career fairs.
  • Identifies, trains, and builds capacity of internal staff to assist with recruiting events;
  • Review applications, resumes, and cover letters to identify qualified candidates;
  • Conduct initial phone screenings and schedule interviews with hiring managers (when requested);
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruitment data in the applicant tracking system;
  • Develops new and innovative recruitment strategies with potential candidate sources (colleges, professional organizations, community groups);
  • Stay current on recruitment best practices, labor market trends, and competitive compensation/benefits data;
  • Works closely with the Human Resources Analyst to research status of certifications/qualifications;
  • Provide a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • This is a hybrid position. Must be able to have prompt, regular attendance and be available to work on-site, in-person as needed.
  • Must be able to work some weekends and travel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • 5 years of professional level experience in talent acquisition or K-12 education;
  • Previous experience with university partnerships and teacher quality preferred;
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and recruiting software/tools
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices
