SUMMARY: The General Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the store, compliance of Company standards and maintaining a positive company image. The GM manages all personnel, loss prevention, and maximizes profitability through effective oversight of areas of operation. This position oversees the inventory, maintenance and upkeep of the store, equipment, and facilities along with all administrative and human-resource functions of the business, including recruiting new employees, assistant managers, and monitors employee performance and training.
Job Requirements and Essential Functions
- High School Diploma or GED, College or University Degree preferred
- 1-3 years supervisory experience in either a food service or retail environment, including Profit and Loss responsibility
- Basic personal computer literacy
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have reliable transportation
- Basic business math and accounting skills, and strong analytical/decision-making skills
- Able to tolerate standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs. and stooping during 80% of shift time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help train and develop all employees
- Communicate and delegate work in a clear, precise, appropriate manner.
- Hold employees accountable for their performance by providing accurate, timely employee evaluations and feedback; effectively counseling and motivating employees on job related matters, and accurately and consistently documenting employee performance.
- Control of cash and inventory loss through effective management
- Complete all paperwork on time such as daily reports, new hire, evaluations, etc.; ensure accuracy in all paperwork, maintain paperwork in an organized, secure fashion, and in compliance of all laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
- Operate the store in a profitable manner by attaining goals, controlling expenses, operating within budget, and working to maintain low levels of employee turnover
