Job Posting for Maintenance mechanic at Chase Technical

Looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic team! Successful candidates will ideally have worked in the steel industry (but not required) and have a solid level of experience with the specialized products and services produced by steel service centers.

We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing a high level of service, value-added opportunities, and professionalism in all interactions, allowing us to become a valued member of their supply chain and production teams.

  • Lead best in class behavior with focus on safety, quality, and policies.
  • Effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
  • Must follow prescribed safety rules and regulations as well as other departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as assigned.
  • Assist maintenance personnel by performing a variety of duties as directed.
  • Detect, document, and report improper machine operation and faulty equipment.
  • Job typically requires 2 years of technical training and 5 years’ experience or equivalent.
  • Detect, document, report and resolve equipment issues.
  • Understand mechanical and / or electrical schematics and offer design improvements necessary.
  • Can demonstrate competence and proficiency in standard mechanical or electrical tasks.
  • Ability in determining root cause for troubleshooting systems.
  • Support engineering in their projects by providing expert resource support.
  • Write up new PM procedures and administer these through our document control.
  • Set up preventative maintenance for machinery in designated areas as required.
