Chasing Tails Mobile Veterinary Services is a full service mobile veterinary service offering but not limited to the following services to our surrounding community: Wellness Exams, Vaccines, Surgery, On-site Diagnostic labs, Ultrasound, and Digital Radiographs with interpretation, Cold laser therapy, hospice care, in-home euthanasias, etc. We are looking for an amazing team player that is as passionate as we are about serving our community (people and pets) through our knowledge and training of veterinary medicine. The right candidate will also have:

· 2-3 years' experience as a veterinary technician in the field or recently licensed veterinary technician

· Plans to stay in the Houston area long term (2 years)

· Loves working with people as much as they love working with pets - we are a relationship-based practice ("where everyone knows your name")

Responsibilities * - Include Technician duties and *Customer Service/ Phones duties
Our best team members are able to see a client through the full process from the first phone call to setting up an appointment to check out at the appointment. We cross-train all team members so everyone understands the scope of the business.

  • They will be able to tactfully respond to stressful situations; be comfortable working in close proximity with dogs and cats and owners; as well as able to work 8:00 am - 7:30 pm on assigned days

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be assigned as needed)

  • Animal restraint
  • Obtaining blood, fecal, and urine samples
  • Placing intravenous catheters
  • Drug dosage calculations
  • Filling prescriptions
  • Administering medications
  • Performing radiography
  • Performing laboratory tests
  • Surgical prep and assistance including intubations
  • Anesthetic monitoring of patients
  • Placing bandages
  • Patient medical record documentation
  • Area Responsibilities: Assist in the development of protocols and procedures
  • Assist in training new technicians
  • Cleaning and maintenance of area and equipment
  • Assist in inventory maintenance and ordering
  • Communicating patient care area concerns to technician supervisor
  • Informing clients of the general healthcare needs of pets
  • Informing clients of the specific condition of their pet
  • Client education as required for home care
  • Organize various front office operational documents
  • Take phone messages and process them appropriately
  • Maintain office and lab equipment
  • Greet Clients in a warm and friendly way
  • Answer phones and appropriately book appointments
  • Assist clients with clinic information
  • Obtain patient medical history from referring veterinarians
  • Obtain and process client payments
  • Call clients to check in on their pets
  • Speaking: talking to others to convey information effectively
  • Mathematics: using mathematics to assist in reaching the desired result
  • Service Orientation: Actively looking for ways to help the client or staff members
  • Client Satisfaction: evaluating satisfaction level of client and recommending improvements
  • Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information
  • Learning Strategies: Selecting and using appropriate methods when teaching or training
  • Learning Initiative: seeking out and using new methods when learning or teaching
  • Instructing: Teaching others how to complete a task while evaluating their comprehension
  • Monitoring: assessing performance or processes to make improvements or take action

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
