Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
Duties:
- Assist in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic files.
- Assist in preparing for trials, hearings, and closings.
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather case information.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency with iManage or similar document management software.
- Ability to file and retrieve documents efficiently.
- Knowledge of litigating processes and court system operations.
- Strong transcription skills.
- Understanding of basic law principles.
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
