Job Description
COMC is looking to hire a Facility & Maintenance Associate. This person will be responsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment to support the company's business goals and objectives. They will exemplify COMC’s core values and card culture through action and mentorship.
The ideal candidate would have experience as a maintenance technician and possess a strong level of attention to detail who thrives in an ever-changing environment.
This position will be in our Algona, WA location with travel to Redmond, WA.
Job Responsibilities
- Work independently or as a team to perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, plumbing devices, and other utility systems and equipment supporting the facility and production areas.
- Maintain a safe work environment; work in a safe manner following all safety policies and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Attend Safety Huddles/Committees and lead New Hire Safety Tours.
- Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities, and process work assignments
- Complete maintenance work orders and preventative maintenance within the allotted time.
- Coordinate oversight or perform routine building/parking lot preventative maintenance and inspections performed by facilities and external vendors
- Communicate and escalate unsafe work conditions/environments.
- Respond in a timely manner to emergency/unscheduled repairs of facility and equipment to quickly restore its function & capability.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities-to include design, build and repair.
- Read and properly interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Train, track and follow up on required OSHA/powered equipment training for yourself and others
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the appropriate individual.
- Perform other facilities duties or services when needed (mounting objects, shipping/receiving, work area upkeep, maintaining electronic files, etc.)
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Uphold the COMC values, quality standards, safety practices, and exemplify C.A.R.D culture.
- Be a willing and collaborative partner to support all areas of the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- Has worked in a role that requires strong attention to detail
- Strong organization for multi-tasking and responding to multiple requests, maintaining multiple schedules, and providing follow up
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Knowledgeable mechanical equipment found in typical buildings and facilities operations such as: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration
- Computer skills; Experience using Excel and Word
- High School Diploma/GED
- Willingness to learn and continuously improve
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders as needed
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and with ambiguity
- Experience working in a retail/warehouse environment is ideal
- Ability to diagnose and research problems, brainstorm, and develop potential solutions, test, make adjustments, and successfully solve the problem

The employee is sometimes required to walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms for short to long periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; talk and hear. The position requires the ability to work with fingers to pick, pinch, and carry out substantial movements of the wrist and hands to perform tasks of delicate manual dexterity, handling small, fragile inventory with great precision and care. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time 40-hour work week
Shift: Algona 10am-6:30pm with regular travel to Redmond
Pay: From $22.50-$25.00 per hour
