Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction;
  • Provide consistent classroom observation and feedback sessions to support individual teacher professional improvement needs and to support implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks using coaching cycles, co-teaching, modeling and pre and post reflection;
  • Support teacher planning/co-planning;
  • Budget and order materials, gather and distribute professional and technical resources;
  • Collect and analyze assessment data and develop intervention strategies (RTI)
  • Plan, facilitate and/or participate in PLCs, faculty meetings, professional development (including early release days), Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, and new teacher days as needed
  • Participate as a team member of ILT, IST, or other school based team as appropriate;
  • Supports with effective instruction and culturally responsive teaching which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques;
  • Provide guidance with the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and\or second language learners;
  • Support with fostering learning environments that is safe and welcoming where all students thrive, providing equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, homelessness, religion, national origin, or disability;
  • Support with instructing students with disabilities in a general education setting;
  • Support with differentiated learning for students who are second language learners;
  • Build capacity for school leadership;
  • Collaborate with District Coordinators and Directors as well as other coaches
  • Additional related duties as determined by the principal.


Qualifications Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university;
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in grade and subject area appropriate for the assignment;
  • Experienced teacher in the respective discipline area who has demonstrated exemplary teaching and instructional leadership skills
  • Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers
  • Ability to work with diverse population;
  • Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention helpful
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required


Qualifications Preferred:

  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Dual certification in ESL and/or Moderate Disabilities


Terms:


The length of the school day is 6.5 hours, but subject to longer hours for schools with extended day. Responsibilities extend beyond the regular school day/school year. See salary information on CPS website.
