PUBLIC HEALTH FELLOW* - Chenango County has an immediate opening for a Public Health Fellow. Chenango County's Public Health department has an opening for a Public Health Fellow*. This is a temporary position designed to allow persons who have received or near the completion of an undergraduate degree the experience of real-work public health work. Public Health Fellows will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects as outlined by the Public Health Corps Coordinator. Public Health Fellows will be involved in the planning, development and implementation of health-related education programs and policy planning and may be responsible for conducting activities and working directly with individuals and families within traditionally marginalized populations to ensure equitable access to public health resources and services. The work is completed under the supervision of the Public Health Corps Coordinator and the director of the program in which the Public Health Fellow is working. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree (or within one semester of completing a Bachelor’s degree) in Public Health, Health Education, Health Science, Health Promotion, Community Health, Health Communications, or a closely related field.
Special Requirement: At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, a candidate/incumbent must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle, and a driving record acceptable to the County’s insurance carrier.

Starting salary is $24.77 per hour (2024 hire rate) with a 37 ½ hour work week which includes benefits for duration of program.

A civil service examination will be required for permanent appointment at a later date. Position status: Competitive.
