ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works in the plant in support of the maintenance department.
Responsible for hands on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of hand tools, such as pneumatic or electric reciprocating saws and nail guns.
Conducts regular parts and tools inventory, submits purchase requisitions for supply needs.
Follows manager’s direction of the duties to be performed.
Generally, does not operate power tools such as saws and nail guns, but may be required to fill in for tool operators based on manager’s direction.
Operators must be able to repeatedly lift a pallet weighing 50 75 lbs.
Work requires operator to stand and walk for long periods of time.
The Utility Tech will adhere to all health and safety policies and directives and maintain a clean safe work area.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
The Utility Tech must have physical strength, hand eye coordination, and endurance.
Mechanically inclined Knowledge of and demonstrable ability to use common mechanics tools.
Tech must also be able to concentrate on their tasks.
The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
Ability to use and navigate MS office and internet applications.
Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
PREFERRED SKILLS
2 years previous experience working in an industrial, fast moving setting with industrial machinery
