What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Player Services Cashier position at Cherokee Casino?

SUMMARY

Lead the activities of player services cashiers and processes. Process accurate and timely monetary transactions for the guest and the department. Provide excellent guest service and actively promote rewards program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

· Processes cash handling transactions including chip issuance and redemption, currency exchanges, check cashing, cash advances, slot machine tickets and promotional voucher redemptions.

· Facilitates a wide range of transactions with high-volume cash and performs noncash transactions for guests in a courteous, accurate and timely manner.

· Enrolls guests into rewards program, issues original and duplicate membership cards and maintains accurate player tracking information.

· Introduces and promotes rewards program membership benefits and explains details of ongoing promotions, offers, other event information to guests and assists with execution of casino promotions.

· Mentors and provides guidance to player services cashier team to ensure compliance with all tribal, federal, state and local laws, regulation and ordinances, as well as Company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

· Verifies funds at the beginning/end of each shift before accepting/dropping funds.

· Writes checks and ensures distribution of required paperwork for winnings over set thresholds.

· Ensures currency transaction information is provided to applicable departments for completion of reports.

· Researches variances by reviewing and auditing reports.

· Maintains and monitors operational and promotional inventory to assure effective working environment.

· Conducts entry level player evaluations and outbound, script-based calls.

· Verifies and distributes payments of jackpots or special payouts and ensures accurate completion of required paperwork.

· Maintains cash and accountability of ATMs and Kiosks.

· Handles guest and employee requests, disputes and complaints in a professional manner, escalating issues to leadership when necessary.

· Safeguards company assets and reconciles daily transactions to balance main cage at the end of shift.

· Maintains confidentiality of all casino and guest information.

· Maintains a clean, well-organized work area and environment.

· Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Lead and or guide the work of other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One-year cash handling or customer services experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want return, providing each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.

· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent guest service.

· Ability to lead, mentor and advise large teams.

· Ability to learn casino games and property amenities to better serve guests.

· Ability to perform basic mathematical computations accurately.

· Ability to learn and explain gaming promotions including drawings, hot seats, and tournaments.

· Ability to learn, and remain in compliance with tribal, federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances, as well as Company and departmental polices, practices and procedures.

· Ability to make sound decisions when involving guest service.

· Knowledge of computers and proficient in the use of computer software as it relates to the job.

· Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and liability insurance.

· Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and casino floors which includes exposure to second-hand smoke and crowd noise. Work will require varied shifts including, weekend and holidays, as needed. Work requires lifting objects up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
